Responsibilities
- Assist the company in making profitable business decisions by gathering information, preparing accurate estimates and negotiating contracts with clients, vendors and sub contractors
- Fully understand the project scope and requirements by studying documentation, meeting with clients, and visiting relevant jobsite locations
- Collect necessary documentation such as plans, drawings, and project specifications
- Determine the key variables for cost and conduct research to determine expected labor and materials costs
- Gather bids and negotiate with service providers to secure the best possible prices
- Create and submit estimates
- Review junior estimators bids and takeoffs for accuracy
- Budget and forecast using appropriate software
- Generate take offs for sheetmetal, piping, insulation and controls
- Generate RFIs and proposals
- Create change orders
- Project cost tracking for all projects
- Negotiate contracts with clients on new projects
- Level all vendors and subcontractors to ensure correct scope and negotiate pricing
- Generate contracts and purchase orders for all subs and vendors for all projects
