Our client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their Philadelphia office with a strong background in building design. This role will support a variety of projects across residential, commercial, performing arts, and higher education facilities, working closely with clients and a multidisciplinary team to deliver building system solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design mechanical systems including HVAC, heating and cooling systems, ventilation, air and water distribution, heat rejection, building automation, and controls.
- Perform load calculations and system design calculations.
- Select and evaluate mechanical equipment for building systems.
- Support sustainable design initiatives and energy-efficient solutions.
- Prepare construction documents, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Assist with reports, studies, and project documentation.
- Collaborate with architects and engineers across multiple disciplines.
- Attend client meetings, understand project needs, and provide technical guidance.
- Manage portions of projects, maintain quality standards, and support client relationships.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- 5+ years of experience designing HVAC systems for commercial or institutional buildings.
- Experience with building systems design and project delivery.
- Strong proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
- Knowledge of building codes and industry standards.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- EIT or PE license preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
