Our client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their Philadelphia office with a strong background in building design. This role will support a variety of projects across residential, commercial, performing arts, and higher education facilities, working closely with clients and a multidisciplinary team to deliver building system solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems including HVAC, heating and cooling systems, ventilation, air and water distribution, heat rejection, building automation, and controls.
• Perform load calculations and system design calculations.
• Select and evaluate mechanical equipment for building systems.
• Support sustainable design initiatives and energy-efficient solutions.
• Prepare construction documents, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Assist with reports, studies, and project documentation.
• Collaborate with architects and engineers across multiple disciplines.
• Attend client meetings, understand project needs, and provide technical guidance.
• Manage portions of projects, maintain quality standards, and support client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 5+ years of experience designing HVAC systems for commercial or institutional buildings.
• Experience with building systems design and project delivery.
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Knowledge of building codes and industry standards.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• EIT or PE license preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
