We’re looking for an Assistant Project Manager to support the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial electrical construction projects. This role works closely with Project Managers and field teams to keep projects organized, materials and information moving, and key milestones on track from project start through closeout.
Responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager with project start-up, execution, and closeout.
- Organize and maintain project drawings, plans, specifications, and documentation.
- Prepare and track RFIs and communicate updates to project and field teams.
- Assist with change order pricing, documentation, and tracking.
- Coordinate and track submittals, purchase orders, material releases, and critical equipment deliveries.
- Review project plans and specifications to ensure field teams have the information and materials needed to complete the work.
- Verify fixture counts, power requirements, and coordination between architectural and electrical drawings.
- Review purchase requests for alignment with project plans, specifications, and scope.
- Communicate scheduling, material, equipment, and project-specific requirements to field leadership.
- Maintain project tracking logs and provide regular updates to the Project Manager and field team.
- Schedule and participate in preconstruction and coordination meetings and document action items.
- Assist with project schedule analysis and critical delivery milestones.
- Conduct periodic site visits to review project progress and support field coordination.
- Track punch-list items, as-built drawings, attic stock, and other closeout requirements.
- Participate in project recap and cost-to-complete reviews.
- Perform additional project-related responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
- Commercial electrical construction experience with at least one year of field engineering, project engineering, or project coordination experience; or
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field with at least two years of relevant field or project engineering experience.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel and familiarity with construction/project management software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
