We are seeking an Electrical Engineer in New York City to join our growing MEP team. This is an opportunity to work on complex building projects across a variety of sectors while collaborating with experienced engineers in a highly technical and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have experience designing electrical systems for commercial and institutional buildings and enjoy working on projects from initial design through construction.


Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems for building projects and present design solutions to clients and project teams.
  • Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Perform engineering calculations, including electrical load analysis, short circuit studies, voltage drop calculations, and emergency power system sizing.
  • Evaluate existing electrical systems and prepare assessment reports with recommended design solutions.
  • Support construction administration by responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, performing site visits, coordinating with contractors, and assisting with punch lists.
  • Work closely with architects and other engineering disciplines throughout the design process.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through successful project delivery.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
  • At least 4 years of experience designing building electrical systems within an MEP consulting environment.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or currently working toward licensure.
  • LEED accreditation is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), NYC Electrical Code, New York Building Code, and NFPA standards.
  • Experience with all phases of design, from schematic design through construction administration.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication, technical writing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
